Bridal Makeup Artist Story
My first ever wedding was undertaken in 2005. It was really enjoyable to be part of such a special day.Drawing has been a passion of mine since 10 years old. Through my love of art, I embarked on 4 years of GCSE and A-level art and art History. Further more, I was trained in fashion design at Epsom School of Art & Design.
At Epsom, I learned how to design and define unique ideas and how to develop my research. As a result; I used to adorn myself and friends with creative makeup designs.
One night, whilst out on the town, I was stopped by a makeup artist and asked if It was my profession. Replying "no" he said; you should be!
Consequently, the seed of doing professional makeup blossomed and bloomed.
MAKEUP TRAINING
Training was undertaken initially by studying VTCT 's in cosmetic and theater makeup. Hence, a two year B-TEC was then undertaken by myself. This was whilst I was working with Estee Lauder Companies. Through the vast network of companies; I was able to develop my makeup knowledge. Working with some of the most well known brands; in Department Stores such as Selfridges and Liberties.EXPERIENCE
This experience allowed me to understand different skin tones, colours and type's. Because of my work with Estee Lauder Companies; I first worked with M.A.C. cosmetics. Consequently, she was head-hunted to work at the then number one account in Selfridges. It was here that she gained best newcomer and the next year was runner up to the most creative. At M.A.C. Cosmetics, I really honed my individual style, skills and knowledge of the art of makeup. Finally, after 4 years I began to learn hair, so that I could extend my skill set and provide more to my bridal clients. Later on, vintage hair styling and nails would join my long list of skills and services.AFTER TRAINING
Since that time, Notting Hill mobile makeup artist London based Fiona has worked on nation-wide weddings as well as advertisements, commercials, headshots, events, performances, fashion editorials, runway, and independent film and Television. Her work has been published in local and national magazines (both online and in print). Especially relevant, it that my work has even given me the opportunity to work with a couple of celebrities such as the Backstreet Boys, John Terry, Michael Owen and Donnie Osmond.
