South East London photographer Fiona Tanner undertook some Website photographs for the founder of Elysium Coaching. It is Melanie McCaw’s dream to help disabled women fulfill their full potential. On a cloudy, yet sunny day in June 2017 we set out to do a number of images which would help to present Melanie’s kind, open, sympathetic and helpful nature to the world!
We started by doing hair and makeup; where Fiona tamed Melanie’s fun, creative dreads into a fish tail plait, of sorts! We then completed makeup in a soft way, concentrating on the lash line, brows, skin and lovely lips.
Fiona Tanner who is a South East London Photographer, then began the shoot by some bright studio shots. We then used the grounds of Kimatica Studio in New Cross. A stroll was then taken down to ST Pauls in Deptford. We undertook a range of head shots, portrait shots and full length sitting shots for her portfolio.
“I often get asked why I started a coaching business, and why I focus that business solely on disabled women.
Because I NEEDED to. There is an unbelievable lack of coaching centred on the needs of disabled women.
To channel my talent for one to one working and seeing women’s hidden gifts and talents into a business that focused on getting disabled women the recognition they deserve.
There are too few of us working that want to work. Too few of us working in careers we love.
Too few of us leading where we should be leading. That HAS to change.
It’s time for disabled women to take their place.
It’s time to LEAD.
It’s time to DREAM.
It’s time to ASPIRE.
The world needs you to dare to be more- will you accept the challenge?”
